Bottom line is they're incapable of delivering a safe experience where food allergies are concerned. The food isn't bad and neither is the service, by most metrics.
Great food. Good service.
We worried they wouldn't be open since it was Labor Day. But they were open and we weren't disappointed.
Chip and two kinds of salsa, regular, and a refried bean with cheese and bacon.
Not the best Mexican food.
However, if you have food allergies, don't gamble your life here. Our most recent trip here, my mother very clearly informed our waiter that she is deathly allergic to shell fish. She was informed that the food would be prepared entirely separately. Well, 5 minutes into her meal we had to leave as her face and throat were swelling up.
The food is good. The service is decent. I've not been disappointed on either of those fronts.
This was a meal worth the money and the drive. We took family out to eat. They wanted Mexican but we didn't want the same old cafe Rio. So after asking around we were directed to Don Pedro.
Broccoli shrimp$15 with rice, broccoli, butter for dip, and some good size shrimps
The broccoli was mushy, and everything tasted heavy and I had to make a cucumber salad later just to cleanse my palate and stomach. Felt bit sick after eating a quarter of that meal.
Tortilla soup $12 with cheese avocado lots of chicken chunks and tortilla
Had a rude waitress, I had to waive down 3 other waitresses to get mine to help us. They served me the incorrect food, and all she said was "what do you want me to do about it?" When I tried to tell the front person(whoever you pay) about our terrible service they just looked down at their paper like they didn't even hear me, no acknowledgment whatsoever. We used to eat here 2 times a month and now we will never go back.
Great food great service. Large portions salsa is phenomenal.
The food is large in quantity. Nice presentation when served. Just doesn't taste hearty. Tortilla soup very salty, the cheese sunk to the bottom clinged onto everything. It was somewhat spicy.
