Spirit Lake Lodge WOW
Amazing!!
Absolutely beautiful here! They have a lodge and several very rustic cabins that can be rented according to family size. Moose come through early in morning so be careful stepping outside your door, you may come face to face with one like I did! There are no restrooms in the cabins but there is one across the parking lot. Cabins are reasonably priced and dogs are allowed for an extra nightly fee per dog. The cabins have double beds and wood burning stoves. All your camping gear is needed when staying here except tents. There are water spicots availble near the cabins to fill your containers at no extra cost.
They have two showers (that I know of) but they are in the same room so it would be a bit weird to have two people use them. The room is also a bit primitive so adjust your expectations accordingly. The water was hot although some people in our group didn't read the sign saying you have to turn the handle all the way to the RIGHT to get hot water so they took cold showers.
They opened up just for us made a fire to warn up by gave all 10 of us hot chocolate for free while we waited for the snow storm to pass a memory none of us will ever forget one of the highlights form are vacation we will be coming back next year thanks for everything
Make sure your expectations are appropriately set before staying here. You essentially get to sleep in a bed inside a cabin but otherwise, it's a lot like tent camping. You have to walk to a central toilet, which is a step above the ones at forest service campgrounds (sit down porcelain toilet with flushing water and a running water sink) but it's still relatively primitive.
The fishing was okay. Flies worked pretty good and one type of spinner lure worked well, but the other types of lures didn't catch much. The other lakes in the area have better fishing but you have to hike quite a ways to get to them.
