I waited 45 days to post my review. After all, I wanted the dust to settle and make sure everything truly was as perfect as it first appeared.
This company is a SCAM! I hired them to put a new roof on my house, which had two holes in it and was leaking. First, they ran off with the deposit, and I had to threaten them to come out at all. They charged me $4,200 plus another $1,000 for new sheeting, which was in line with what the other bids were.
When I complained, they said 'its not in the contract' which is bull, because the contract specifically states 'new roof' and 'new sheeting' which they didn't put in to fix the 2 foot hole in the roof. Why anyone would think I wanted a new roof that still leaks is beyond me.
Each week they had a new excuse why they can't come out, why they didn't give back my deposit until I threatened them, why they didn't come back to fix it, why they did such shoddy work, ect. These people talk a pretty picture, but don't believe a word of it-they are a SCAM!
Use this company at your own peril.
I sent them photos of my roof leaking, and the last thing I heard from them was 'they would check into it' but that was weeks ago, needless to say, no-one came out to check on it.
Ashley Stone says they went 'above and beyond' to come back out to fix the leaks, so apparently good ethics is not in their normal standard of business. I had to argue every step of the way. Now, they want me to update the review, but what else can I really say...Morality and good business ethic is not demonstrated AFTER you get caught and have to face the consequences.
Eric of Ashley Stone was able to come to my house last minute and install some tile when my original contractor fell through. I was on a time crunch and appreciated that he was able to work me in. He had some wonderful suggestions for installation that I had not thought of and I went with his suggestions. His crew was fast, did excellent work, and cleaned up afterwards. Later when I noticed that a part of the job had been overlooked by accident Eric came back and finished up the job and also offered to install some of my left over tile in an entry way free of chart for the inconvenience. My tile looks beautiful! I would highly recommend Ashley Stone!

After they got paid, they 'forgot' to finish the roof, then came back out to slap some shingles over the hole and call it good. My roof still has a hole in it and it still leaks. They left a huge mess, didn't even cut the shingles right, there is no flashing, edging, fascia or pipe boots and I have more leaks now than I started with.
Where to even start with these guys. First, we were told we would receive the quote in about three days and it ended up taking almost 2 weeks just to get the bid. Then we were told that the construction project in our basement would take about a week total to complete. It wasn't a very big job, just some sheet rock paint baseboards and laying back down carpet in 2 rooms , so one week seemed about right. Well the project took about six weeks to complete and the only reason it was finished that fast was because we called the owner and threatened to report their business. That was literally the only way we could get them to come out consistently and do the job. As if that wasn't bad enough, what made it even worse is that they had to redo their work several times but they couldn't see the problems for themselves, we had to pointed out to them. They put 5/8" sheet rock up when all of our sheet rock in our house was half inch and they had seen our house first so there's no excuse. They didn't texture our walls, they didn't put primer paint on the entire wall so it started peeling in the corners and sides, you could see the paint lines on the walls after they painted, they didn't put mud under the tape so you could see the tape lines in several spots, and they didn't clean up the room after the job was finished. Their communication was very poor, especially at the beginning.They put our sliding doors on incorrectly and put a hole through our casing so it took us 2 hours to re-do correctly them ourselves. In the end, they did complete it enough to get by so we paid them, but it wasn't quality work and the whole process from start to finish was a nightmare. I would not recommend anyone use these guys. It seemed like the superintendent and installers had never done a reconstruction project in their lives. Buyer beware!
Our project was completed by the deadline we set and the initial quote is exactly what we paid for the completed project. I feel that the superintendent kept me informed with pictures, texts, and visual design options at every point during the process.
I LOVE my new Master Bathroom! My husband and I are pretty particular as we have built several homes ourselves. I'm so relieved that we opt to hire this renovation out to Ashley Stone.
After this post, Ashley Stone finally sent the roofer back out. The back part looks good now and, though it took 3 months, 2 re-dos and a lot of arguments, independent inspections, threats, more cajoling and behind-the-scenes maneuvering, I finally have the roof I paid for.
We thank Ashley Stone for the Elegant, Bright, and Beautiful Master Bath they helped create! I have recommend them to 3 neighbors. Our home was treated with respect as the exhisting flooring was covered from the beginning to the end of our project.
