Total hip replacement, Dr. Madsen explained process well, had me prepared for operation with meds and various items, I am obese and it was a difficult operation but I came through with little pain thanks to Dr. Madsen's prep; soon I was walking and the more I did the better it got; Home health with Larissa & Mike ++++++. I never thought I would know what pain-free was again.
Dr Madsen was great! He did my hip replacement and I'm very happy with it! I need knee surgery soon and will definitely have him take care of it! He and his staff have been easy to work with. He is very knowledgeable and has discussed all my treatment options which helped me to make my medical decisions. I would recommend him to anyone needing orthopedic help!
I will not be back to see Dr. Madsen. He had terrible bedside manner. Continually cutting me off as I was talking, rude and abrupt. I tried joking with him when he told me my limitations with my injury by saying "You're killing me here!" and he replied by snapping "Hey, you came to me, I didn't come to you!". He told me to take medication that I am allergic to not ten minutes after discussing my allergies. When the consult was over, he did not ask if I had any questions, he did not shake my hand, he just said, "Okay then." and walked out the door. My goodness, what an awful experience! His nurse on the other hand was very polite and friendly. I recommend seeking out an Orthopedic Surgeon with a little more experience and friendlier (or at least more professional) disposition.
I went to see Dr.Madsen for my Achilles' tendon. After four years of pain and not being able to wear shoes with backs on them, not being able to go hiking, hunting and just being constant pain I decided to go in and see if there was anything that could help. Dr. Madsen was very personable and talked to me about trying conservative treatment first, verses surgical treatment. I wanted to try that before getting surgery. When that didn't work for me, Dr. Madsen talked with me about the surgery for my Achilles' tendon, the healing process, and the things I would need to do afterward. I got the surgery and I am so glad I did. I'm six weeks post op., and I can already tell a big difference. His nurse is awesome and his front office staff have been so nice as well. I am very happy with my experience! I would definitely recommend Dr. Madsen!
